Maya Roy Prabhakaran

Maya joined Joel Gustafsson Consulting in 2024 upon completion of a Master’s Degree in Engineering at the University of Cambridge. She specialised in Mechanical & Environmental Engineering, developing a strong foundation in energy systems and sustainable design.

 During her studies, she completed her Master’s project, “Energy and Emissions of School Buildings,” which undertook a detailed analysis of energy consumption data alongside weather and temperature data. Her work applied economic modelling to identify strategies to improve building performance, reduce energy use, and lower operational costs.

At JG Consulting, Maya has worked across a range of projects and building portfolios, including the decarbonisation of historic college buildings and the delivery of new-build developments across various RIBA stages – from design and development through to construction. She is committed to applying data-driven approaches to develop practical, scalable solutions that support the transition to low-carbon, high-performance buildings.
