Ben Leary

Ben is a Chartered Engineer with over a decade of experience delivering complex MEP services on some of the UK's most demanding new-build and retrofit projects. Since joining JGC in 2020, he has led decarbonisation masterplans and delivered complex retrofits and high-performance new builds for heritage and higher education.

Ben graduated from the University of Bath with a Master's Degree in Architectural and Civil Engineering. Previously a Partner at Max Fordham, he has a project background spanning specialist research facilities, leisure centres, and large-scale residential developments. He is proficient in the technical design of MEP services within architecturally sensitive environments, ensuring precision from conceptual briefing through to site delivery.

Ben prioritises a pragmatic approach to building services, balancing system efficiency with the practicalities of construction and long-term operation. His particular focus is the strategic transition of large, complex estates away from fossil fuels—developing robust, data-driven solutions that withstand technical scrutiny while delivering on ambitious low-carbon targets.
