Alex Govan
Alex joined JGC in 2024, drawn by the firm's strong environmental focus. He graduated with a 2:1 from the University of Cambridge in 2023, where his final year project focused on the viability of micro-hydroelectric systems in rural Nepal.
Since joining JGC, Alex has worked on a diverse range of projects across all stages of delivery, leading schemes from feasibility through to construction and handover. His work encompasses technical MEP design across the full suite of building services, as well as direct client-facing responsibilities. He has significant experience in the heritage and education sectors, as well as in bespoke projects such as archives and boathouses. His portfolio includes work for multiple Cambridge colleges and the National Gallery.
Alex enjoys solving technical engineering challenges that deliver tangible environmental benefits and practical solutions for clients. He is driven by the opportunity to contribute to the decarbonisation of the built environment and the global energy transition.
